Police officers rob man Sh517,000, iPhone outside family shop in Pangani

Police in Pangani are investigating an incident in which four of their colleagues allegedly confronted and robbed a youthful man of Sh517,000 at 9pm on Wednesday, May 26.

The victim, 20, was standing outside his parents’ store at Pangani shopping centre, when the four officers on night patrol, confronted him and made away with the money and an iPhone 12 Pro Max valued at Sh120,000.

The cops allegedly broke the man’s collarbone during the attack.

A medical report by Al Amin Hospital, where the victim, Abdifatah Shukri, was taken to for treatment, confirmed that the patient sustained injuries in the attack.

Police are now investigating the incident, which has left Al Mukaram Wholesalers counting losses.

The suspects were arrested, and are being detained at the Pangani Police Station as investigations continue.
