The incident happened when a motorcycle rider informed the police that there were four men who were terrorizing locals in Masimba area. This prompted the chase which ended up in Soweto slums with two fatalities. No police officer was injured and one of them said he was saved by a bullet proof vest he had.

Six mobile phones, cash and other valuables were recovered from the men while the hunt on the other two is ongoing. The bodies were taken to the mortuary.
