University honours beauty over anti-jigger crusade

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has crowned former Miss World Kenya beauty queen Cecilia Mwangi this year’s winner of the Distinguished Service Award for her national anti-jigger crusade. The award, which was presented by Vice-Chancellor, Mabel Imbuga at the university on Saturday, comes barely a month after the model (alongside Ahadi Kenya Trust) received an international award for the initiative.
