The High Court has barred Senators from summoning directors of two firms demanding Sh3.2 billion from the State for land in Ruaraka, Nairobi.

Yesterday, Justice Pauline Nyamweya issued an injunction stopping the County Public Accounts and Investment Committee (CPAIC) from summoning directors of Afrison Import Export Ltd, Huelands Ltd and Whispering Palm Estate Ltd – Francis Mburu, Mark Mburu and Justin Mburu respectively.

The High Court granted orders barring the committee from issuing further summons to the directors or any companies associated with them over the land acquisition, until a judicial review order of prohibition is heard on June 21.

The orders were served to Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka and the Senate yesterday.

The land on which Ruaraka Secondary and Drive Inn Primary sit is being acquired by the Ministry of Education for Sh3.2 billion.

The CPAIC, chaired by Homa-Bay Senator Moses Kajwang', however, said it would proceed with its investigations.
