Please take away our children, pleads Trans Nzoia couple

A couple in Tuwan Ward in Trans-Nzoia County wants to donate its two children to a children's home or to any willing person because it is too poor to fend for them.
The couple, which we cannot not name in order to protect the identity of the children, says it is unable to provide a comfortable lifestyle to the children aged three and 9.
"We are unable to provide for the children because of poverty. We are reaching out to anyone who is ready to take custody of the children," says the father of the children.
The couple says it is too stressed watching the children suffer.

The father’s problems started when his employer failed to pay his dues that had accumulated for three months.
He claims he has nothing to provide for the family as he recalls how he used to provide for the wife and children in happier times now gone.
"My tribulations started in Kisumu where I was working as a waiter. My employer refused to pay us for three months after which I went to Kitale to look for employment,” says the father who is in his 30s.
"These are innocent human beings …. We are urging any person willing to take care of them to come and collect them," says the father whose family lives in a single room at Tuwan trading centre.
It was the mother of the children who came up with the plan to donate the children because she was tired of seeing them sleep hungry.
"I convinced my husband to buy into my idea to end the suffering. We are unable to feed them and I do not want to see them continue to suffer," she says.
"I want to see them lead a peaceful life. We have no food to give them and I will not regret it when they are in safe hands," she adds.
