  • Wenger expects the duo to stay at Emirates
  • Their contracts are due to expire by the end of this season

Arsene Wenger insists that Arsenal will resist any bids for Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, expects them to honour the final year of their contracts - and wants to tie them down to new deals.

Mirror Sport revealed that Manchester City will test Arsenal’s resolve with a mega offer for Sanchez while Chelsea want Oxlade-Chamberlain who also only has one year left on his current deal.

Wenger, in an interview with beIN Sports, said: “We always hope, even now, that we can extend the contracts of Sanchez, Chamberlain and [Mesut] Ozil.” When asked whether he stood by his promise they will not be sold, Wenger added: “Yes, of course!”
