Mudasa Academy and Makini School dominated the 2023 Kisumu Junior Chess Championship after finishing first and second respectively.

Breetaliza Amanda and Reuben Curtis led for Mudasa in the Under-9 girls and Under-11 boys categories respectively as Skylar Amor (Under-11 girls) and Victor Tindi (Under-15) also went home with gold medals.
