The Senate will reconvene on Tuesday, February 11, following a long recess.

Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot confirmed the session will begin with the reconstitution of key committees, including the Business, County Public Accounts, County Public Investments and Special Funds Committees.

Once reconstituted, the Business Committee will review the draft session calendar before presenting it to the full Senate for approval.

Senators will then focus on critical financial and legislative matters, prioritising the passage of the 2025 Budget Policy Statement (BPS) as mandated by the Public Finance Management Act and Standing Order 186(1).

At the same time, the lawmakers will deliberate on the Division of Revenue Bill (2025/2026), County Allocation of Revenue Bill (2025/2026), and County Governments Additional Allocations Bill (2025/2026), along with approving the Cash Disbursement Schedules.

The fourth session will also feature national events, including the presidential address to parliament and a legislative summit set for March 18-21.

A devolution conference will take place in Homabay County from August 12 to 15, followed by special sittings in Busia County from September 22 to 26 respectively.

Senators will review the revenue-sharing formula to ensure fair distribution of national funds among counties.

The Commission on Revenue Allocation (CRA) has already submitted its recommendations for the fourth basis of revenue sharing.

The session will conclude on December 4, 2025, in accordance with Standing Order 31.
