Adelle Onyango, a well-known media personality and the founder of the podcast Legally Clueless Africa, has been selected as a jury member for the 2023 Health for All Film Festival by the World Health Organization (WHO). The festival, which was launched in 2019/2020, aims to recruit a new generation of film and video innovators to champion global health issues.

In an Instagram post, Adelle expressed her excitement at being chosen alongside Hollywood actress, producer, and activist Sharon Stone, and WHO's Director of Neglected Tropical Diseases, Dr. Soce Fall, to judge the Universal Health Coverage Category. She also emphasized her belief in the power of storytelling and how film can create an impact around health issues.

"I am so thrilled to be joining Hollywood Actress, Producer & Activist Sharon Stone, in being a jury member, in the 2023 Health for All Film Festival. Together with the WHO's Director, Neglected Tropical Diseases, Dr. Soce Fall, the 3 of us will be judging the Universal Health Coverage Category.

I truly believe in the power of storytelling and hope to see how this, using film, can create impact around health issues," she wrote.

The Health for All Film Festival invited independent filmmakers, production companies, public health institutions, NGOs, communities, students, and film schools from around the world to submit their original short films. With 800 submissions received, the jury of international artists and development leaders shortlisted 90 films for review before announcing the winners in June 2023.

This festival serves as an excellent platform for filmmakers to showcase their work while raising awareness of global health issues. Through their films, these artists can contribute to the larger conversation around health and inspire others to make positive changes. As a jury member, Adelle will play a crucial role in evaluating the films and selecting the winners.

The Health for All Film Festival is a unique initiative that demonstrates the power of creativity and collaboration in promoting global health. By bringing together filmmakers, NGOs, and public health institutions, the festival aims to inspire a new generation of storytellers and advocates who can help drive meaningful change in the world.
