Wahome swings like none other in Ruiru tourney

Mwangi Wahome produced an excellent 44 stableford points to emerge the overall winner of the 2022 Amerucan golf tournament played at Ruiru Sports Club Golf course on Saturday.

The handicap 23 golfer was four points ahead of handicap 17 Peter Thuku, who was the Men winner on countback after tying on the same score with men runner-up placed handicap 22 Linus Wachira.

Rose Kagio, playing off handicap 33, was the Lady winner on 39 points while handicap 14 Beatrice Waweru settled for the runner-up slot with 38 points.

Handicap 4 John Kahungu, who carded 43 points, was the Division Two Men winner, while handicap 38 Patriciah Ngahu, with 32 points, was the Lady winner.

Handicap 17 Kamonjo Kiburi, who brought 34 points, was the Guest prize winner.

Chris Andrea, playing off handicap plus 5, was the gross winner on 73 gross, while handicap 21 F. Mugambi was the sponsor winner after returning a score of 35 points.

At Machakos Golf Club, handicap 25 P. Odhiambo returned 34 points to emerge the Kenya  Defence Forces (KDF) winner during the Kenya Defense Forces Golf Association (KDFA) Captain’s Prize golf tournament.

  1. Lajah, playing off handicap 22, was the runner-up on 34 points, while handicap 29 Mulwa, who had a score of 32 points, was third.

Handicap 11 Nderitu Macharia, who carded 42 points, was the member winner, while handicap 13 David Mwagangi was the runner-up on a countback score of 40 points after  tying on the same score with third-placed handicap 3 Mo Lemoshira.

Florence Riungu, playing off handicap 23, was the Lady winner on 41 points and Mary Muena, playing off handicap 28, was the runner-up on 40 points, while  handicap 14 Joseph Waigwa was the guest Prize winner after carding 38 points.

Meanwhile, Josphat Kosegei, playing off handicap 20, returned 40 points to emerge the overall winner of the Stanbic Bank Kenya Golf tournament, at the Kericho Golf Club.

He defeated handicap 10 Felix Maiyo to the runner-up slot by a single point difference.

Ken Biegon, playing off handicap 30, won the men’s prize with 38 points, while handicap 27 Risper Biegon, with 37 points, was the Lady winner with handicap 31 Cecil Too, on 27 points, lifting the juniors title.

Handicap 12 Edwin Mucai, on 29 points and handicap 34 Janet Kabiru with 17, points were the staff male and female winners respectively.

At Vet Lab, Ephraim Mugisha and Jack Mureithi won the 2022 Tilley Rose Bowl Finals after beating Godwin Karuga and Adam Nyaga in the Match Play finals.

Karuga and Nyaga settled for the runner-up slot. 

The Johnnie Walker and Eye Modes Limited sponsored the day-long tournament.
