Harry Maguire and Edinson Cavani were reportedly missing from Manchester United’s travelling party ahead of their Champions League opener against Paris Saint-Germain.

The pair were not seen arriving at Manchester Airport on Monday afternoon, according to the MEN.

Cavani began training with the rest of the squad on Sunday at United’s Carrington training centre after completing his time in isolation.

The Uruguayan has not played a competitive match, however, since beating Borussia Dortmund on March 11 with PSG.

Meanwhile, United skipper Maguire was a doubt for the 4-1 win over Newcastle, but played the full 90 minutes, and even got on the scoresheet after putting in a much more assured performance than previous weeks.

Young winger Mason Greenwood is also thought to have been excluded after he missed the Newcastle win.

That means there is space for Facundo Pellistri in the squad that flew to Paris, and he could be in line to make his debut.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted that the 18-year-old had been training with the first-team already, and had impressed so far.

"We're looking forward to integrating them into the group," Solskjaer said.

"Facundo has been in training with us two days, very exciting, young, enthusiastic player with some attributes we don't have. He's maybe one for the future, maybe not for just now, still only 18."

Teams can name as many as 12 substitutes on the bench in the Champions League, and make up to five substitutes.

Confirmed United squad members

David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Axel Tuanzebe, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Alex Telles, Brandon Williams, Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek, Facundo Pellistri, Daniel James, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Odion Ighalo
