Barcelona players sneaked out of the back door of their training ground on their return to Spain following their humiliation by Bayern Munich.

After being booed by fans at their hotel in Lisbon, Barca's flops seemingly did not want to be confronted by more angry supporters and instead opted to take an alternative route.

The Blaugrana were humbled 8-2 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals, with boss Quique Setien looking certain to lose his job.

They returned to their training bases on non-official buses on Saturday afternoon, with fans hanging up banners to show their frustration, report Marca.

One read: "Board and players, the embarrassment of 121 years of history." Another said: "Less luxury and more pride." While a third declared: "Leave, mercenaries."

And while the players scarpered out of the back door, some board members did reportedly front up to the baying mob, including director of institutional relations, Guillermo Amor.

A tearful Gerard Pique even offered to quit the club following the defeat.

The defender said: "It's a horrible result. An embarrassment. This club needs changes, and I don't mean the manager, or any specific players. I don't want to single anyone out. It needs changes.

"This is the bottom. We have hit rock bottom. If I have to leave for new blood to come, I will leave. We do not compete in Europe or the league. It cannot be masked anymore.

"It is a shame, I can't say anything else. It's not the first or the second time. The club needs changes of all kinds.”
