Over the past couple of years, we have seen a rise of women in the workforce. This is an empowering move to allow women to be more financially stable especially now that we have hit uncertain financial times.

Getting a job and earning money isn’t the main problem for some though. There is a certain level of accountability you need to have as a woman to ensure you never go broke after working so hard for your cash.

Women sometimes fall for detrimental financial traps which could have easily been avoided with a few changes.

These habits will guide you on what to do so that you never earn the ‘broke woman’ title after working your donkey for years with nothing to show.

1.No splurging on useless things

As women, we sometimes find ourselves spending emotionally. When you feel you need to buy three new party dresses - even though the world is still in quarantine mode and you won’t be attending parties anytime soon, you go ahead and buy them.

When you feel the need to add a new pair of heels, you have no problem making the purchase when it’s clearly not a necessity at that point in time.

Don’t rush to make random purchases and commit yourself to terrible financial demands. You can be sure that you’ll end up broke if you don’t start thinking twice before making any new purchase.

2.Learn from mistakes

You also need to be a teachable person in order to succeed in life. If you’re too committed to the wrong path, you’ll never have the chance to turn your finances around. You can learn from your own mistakes and the mistakes of others too.

Do proper research and read books from people who have been successful financially, to help you learn how to handle finances properly.

3.Have your own

Smart women never wait on someone else to come and save them. They have or at least are working on something that can generate income.

Remember that totally relying on someone else is risky business because they can decide to withdraw their support at any point in time, leaving you broke once again. Securing your own bag will give you a sense of fulfillment and financial freedom.

4.Make budgets and stick to them

There’s nothing as tough as sticking to your budget. That’s for sure! But once you start the process of creating budgets more often, you naturally learn to cut on unnecessary expenses.

In order to see the true fruits of your efforts, you need to start somewhere. That will mean cooking more often instead of ordering food or even spending less on makeup products.

Also, you’ll be in a much better position to handle emergencies when they come up.

5.Be thrifty

Creativity will work to your advantage when it comes to finances. So many products sold to us are low quality at high prices and in real sense, it’s better to save your money for something you actually want.

To prevent careless or impulsive spending, you can work with what you already have. This is very easy especially when it comes to home décor or even wardrobe changes.

6.Live a simple lifestyle

Having many things doesn’t equate to stable finances. So many people are living way above their limits which creates a façade that all is well.

Don’t worry if you can’t always attend those fancy dinners and events when you know you’re saving up for something else or truly, you know you can’t afford it.

It’s actually okay when people criticize you for living a very simple low key life because you know that the decisions you’re making are for the best.

What are you most likely very wrong about?
