Simon Chelugui is the only Cabinet Secretary retained by President William Ruto from that of his predecessor and one-time ally Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a list unveiled Tuesday at State House, President Ruto reassigned the Labour and Social Protection CS to the Cooperatives docket. Chelugui previously served as the Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation during Uhuru's presidency.

Nominee Florence Boore will serve the Labour docket should parliament approve her.

Another survivor, Monica Juma, who previously served as the Energy CS, has been retained as an advisor on national security.

Juma's Energy docket will see the return of Davis Chirchir, who served in the position during the UhuRuto administration between 2013 and 2017.
