Joseph Mburu Mwema, a pharmacist, recalls the first time he learnt of forex exchange (FX). A friend had just joined an online trading scheme that was promising large returns.
To Mwema, the allure of vast returns proved too good to turn down. He quickly roped in his parents and brothers and invested heavily in a foreign exchange company, Sparkle Investment.
"I borrowed Sh1.8 million from Co-operative Bank and deposited it to Sparkle Investment account, called the financial manager and informed him of the same before going to their office after the lapse of two weeks to sign an MoU," said Mwema.
