Guards from a nearby farm had to be called in to shoot the animal before the rescuers could access the worker during the midday incident in the farm located along the Moi North Lake road. The secretary general Kenya Plantations and Agricultural Workers Union (KPAWU) Naivasha branch Ferdinand Juma confirmed the death terming it as shocking. Juma who visited the scene said that the man was found lying in a pool of blood inside the pit after the attack by the animal. "The warthog using its long teeth attacked the flower farm worker who bled to death before fellow workers could come to his rescue," said the unionist.
