With the revision of the syllabus, social studies should be used to correct the ills that continue to ail society such as corruption and rape.
These vices are rampant in the society today, and it is not long ago when a judge complained that rape of girls cases are being brought to court on a daily basis.
In FGM and rape the most affected are girls. The girls end up traumatised and their education is affected as some are forcibly married off to older men.
Let school administrators and chiefs be educated about these problems, so that they can talk about them in barazas and meetings.
The newspapers, radio and television should dedicate part of their time and space to advocate these issues to the public.
