A kid who had been assumed dead shocked his parents when he returned home in Kibera slums.
The boy, it is alleged, had been knocked by a speeding car and his body was taken to City Mortuary.
According to neighbours, the boy’s mother received a phone call from a stranger who claimed her son was found dead on the road. She rushed to the mortuary, but was reportedly too drunk to identify the body of her son.
She returned home and informed neighbours of the death who started mourning and wailing. However, a few hours later, they were all shocked to see the boy walk into the house and ask for food.
“Mathee nijenge nasikia ubao (mum give me some food, I am hungry),” he reportedly said. The mother was overcome by emotions as she tightly hugged her son.
