There is a new development in a civil case facing director and producer, Sheila Mulinya, who was accused of sending 500 abusive messages to two Administration Police lovers Brenda Mukolwe (Constable) and James Makomere (Inspector).
Brenda’s mother Judith Keya now wants to be enjoined in the case as a person of interest claiming her daughter reportedly forged a statement on her name with clear intention to implicate, Mulinya, a Nairobi based television show producer.
This come just three weeks after the same court gave permission to a request by the two parties to solve the matter out of court. It is said the warring parties could not agree.
“It is in the interest of justice that the interested party (Mrs Keya) be allowed to participate in this proceedings to resolve this matter amicably,” the application read.
Through her sworn affidavit, in possession of The Nairobian, Mrs Keya claims that her cop daughter made a fallacious statement on her with malicious intentions.
“My daughter (Brenda) went as far as drafting a statement on my behalf with a view to implicate the defendant (Mulinya). It has been my wish to settle this matter amicably,” she said.
She further claimed under the application that James and Brenda were not married as alleged by the two in their affidavits which indicate they were joined under customary laws.
“The plaintiffs (Brenda and James) are both related by virtue of all coming from one clan and cannot therefore regard themselves as married couples as the same goes against their culture,” she said.
Among the over 500 abusive messages reportedly authored by Mulinya to Brenda reads: “Madam Incest, mtu wa kulala na kuzaa na relatives ...”
The two police lovers sued Mulinya for the abusive messages, and the lovers got reprieve when the Kakamega court gave permanent injunctions to stop Mulinya from sending them abusive texts.
Matters seemed to cool down and headed to a village baraza but the three weeks granted for the same elapsed as the parties waited to see who blinks first.
The lawyer for the officers, Gregory Ombito, reportedly failed to turn up, as did the plaintiffs.
