Not even his arrest under “suspicions of terrorism” last weekend will stop ladies from declaring him their man crush, as a matter of fact; the news created a buzz around him and made him the talk of town up until his release from the police cells.
After spending ages in the Kenyan musical scene, Swabri Mohammed curved a niche for himself, and rose to become one of the finest dancehall (reggae and ragga ) artistes in Kenya, with his fame spreading all across East Africa and parts of Europe.
With more than three albums to his name, Redsan first got the platform to showcase his musical prowess at the Star Search challenge held at the Carnivore hotel in 1998, after which producers and members of the Ogopa Deejays family identified him.
The acclaimed recording stable took him up to manage his musical career and it was at this time that he met other stars like Nameless and Jose Chameleone all of whom were starting out and growing their careers.
Some of his most memorable hits include “Chicken now”, “Julie mbona wanitesa” “Monalisa” and many others which spin to his 4th album which saw Brick and Lace fly in for the album launch.
But it was his recent remix “badder” featuring Jamaican star Demarco that made him a club banger to date. Hardly will you visit a club and not hear the dancehall remix which is a favorite of both ladies and gents.
Aside from his music, Redsan’s trademark durag is one his brand’s outstanding pieces. Most of his fans would pay for a peak into what lies beneath it, but for those who may not know, he packs a collection of well groomed dreadlocks underneath it.
With all that talent, charm, and musical prowess, Redsan is married to Delilah, an international models and his long term girlfriend who he has always protected from the public’s prying eyes.
When it comes to staying relevant in the show business, Redsan has mastered the art of making relevant appearance into the public domain, and when to retreat and take a hiatus.
No wonder we will not always be talking about Redsan but for today, he is the ultimate man crush!
