Malawian president Bingu Wa Mutharika has succumbed to a cardiac arrest he had suffered on Thursday. The Malawi president died in a hospital in Lilongwe while undergoing heart treatment. Mutharika's death leaves a political crisis in the southern Africa state with his kitchen cabinet plotting to cling on to power until 2014.
