Meghan Markle knew Harry was 'the one' after two dates

Meghan and Harry chat at the Invictus Games in Toronto

Prince Harry told Meghan he loved her before she dropped the romantic bombshell in return.

According to friends quoted in the biography Finding Freedom, the couple were 'immediately obsessed' with one another upon meeting.

The Duke of Sussex was left in a 'trance' following their first date at Dean Street Townhouse in Soho, where staff ensured their secrecy by whisking them through the back entrance.

Harry and Meghan's date went so well that nibbles laid out before them lay neglected for the duration of the romantic encounter, Mail Online reported.

The Prince regaled his future wife with stories of his trips to Africa and his charity work.

The book claims the couple were enamoured with each other from when they first met

Despite Harry having drunk beer and Meghan martini, the loved up couple resisted the urge to kiss that night.

Sources said they were "in their own little world" after that first encounter.

The very next evening they would meet again at the exact same location.

Six weeks later Harry asked Meghan to fly into London from Toronto, with the actress staying the night at Kensington Palace.

The next day they flew to Johannesburg and then onto a safari in Botswana.

A friend said: "She came back smiling and just completely spellbound."

Just three months into their relationship Harry told Meghan that he loved her.

Thankfully for the bowled over monarch Meghan immediately returned the compliment.

The juicy details are revealed in the new royal biography which is written by authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.

Extracts of Finding Freedom have been serialised by The Times and The Sunday Times.

The book also reveals that the couple got secretly engaged two months before they told the world.

The Duke of Sussex popped the question during their trip to Botswana in August 2017, it is claimed.

The couple previously said Harry proposed while trying to cook a chicken dinner in November 2017.

The book says the Sussexes even considered breaking protocol by springing a surprise visit on the Queen when they believed they were being blocked from seeing the monarch.

A spokesman for Harry and Meghan said the couple did not contribute to the book, but he did not deny the content of The Times's extracts.

If you could pick only one person to live with forever who would it be?
