5 Steps to properly clean your toilet bowl

Maintaining a clean toilet can save you a few hospital bills by washing away all those germs, and let’s not even mention the embarrassment. That said, have you been cleaning your toilet the right away? There is only one way to find out. Read on and be sure to wear some gloves as you do this.

With a wide selection of cleaning solutions pick one and get busy.

Apply your cleaning agent under the rim, all the way round the bowl and let it trickle down to the base. Close the lid and leave the cleaning agent to do its work as you clean the rest of the toilet.

Next, focus on the exterior of the toilet and clean it all the way starting from the lid to the base of the seat. Spray it with a disinfectant and use a sponge or rag to scrub your way towards the base. Remember to regularly soak your sponge with hot water or disinfectant as you do this.

Once you’re done, pop up the lid and start cleaning the rim using the disinfectant. Spray the inside of the lid as well the outside of the toilet seat. Also make sure to clean the hinges at the back of the toilet seat.

After that grab the toilet brush and start working on the inside of the bowl from top to bottom. First pay attention under the rim making sure you thoroughly scrub out the grime trapped in there. Then scrub the bowl and finish with the bottom part of the toilet.  Close the lid and flush.

Once all that is done, wipe the floor clean and wipe any cleaning agent spills that may be have happened. Rinse out your toilet brush and empty any trash that may be in the room.

Once you have achieved the ideal clean toilet, make sure to maintain your toilet bowl in top notch condition by wiping the rim after every use. 

And to keep it smelling fresh, buy any scented air fresheners or hang some potpourri.
