Common causes of hair breakage

Hair

The average person sheds approximately between 50 and 100 hairs daily. When that number increases significantly, then you are experiencing hair breakage. There are some things that we do unconsciously that lead to hair breakage.

Hair breakage is a pain in every woman’s heart.All women dread the hair breakage nightmare especially those with long hair. Here are some of the causes of hair breakage:

 

Stress:

You may not know this but stress is a great contributor to hair breakage. Being stressed causes you to act roughly or even neglect your hair.

 

Tight hairstyles :

Whenever you decide to tie your hair into a ponytail, be cautions of the effect it could have on your hair by not making it too tight. Also, note that continually putting your hair in the same style weakens it.

 

Inadequate protein intake :

Hair contains keratin which is a protein. This means that your hair needs enough proteins to stay strong. Find the right balance of protein since excessive proteins also makes the hair brittle.

 

Skipping regular haircuts:

Split ends are very dangerous to your hair. You should cut them often since if you don’t , they will eventually force your hair to break off.

 

Combing/ brushing your hair often:

Often combing /brushing of your hair could be necessary but harmful in the long run. By combing your hair now and then, you are making it weaker and weaker hence breakage is inevitable.

 

Not protecting your hair as you sleep:

I know it’s almost inevitable to jump between the sheets without covering your head after a rough day at work. This is harmful to your hair. You should always cover your head with a smooth scarf.
