You will need a wooden spoon for accuracy
It may seem like a pain in the backside when you're running late for work, but there are several solid reasons why we should all make our beds.
Firstly, no matter how messy your 'floordrobe' is , making your bed will automatically make your room look more orderly.
Secondly, you'll feel a vague sense of achievement before you've even left the house.
Military personnel are famously speedy and efficient at the task of making their beds and Howcast have shared a simple step-by-step guide on how to make your bed perfectly - and quickly.
1. Firstly
Take your fitted sheet and place it over your mattress, pulling the elastic as tightly as possible to tuck it in underneath.
This has to be worth a try?
2. Secondly
Do you use a top sheet? If so, place it over the fitted sheet.
The edge of your sheet nearest to where your pillows are should be even with the top of your mattress.
The sheet's sides should hang over the bed, so tweak them to make sure they do.
3. Next
You need to tuck the sheet in on both sides under the mattress.
Try using a wooden spoon to poke it in if you're having trouble.
The idea is that ONLY the sides are nicely secured under the mattress - the top and bottom of the sheet should still be 'free'.
Make this a thing of the past
4. Then
At the foot of the bed, pull the top sheet down your mattress from the middle, so there's a diagonal fold. Make this lie flat on the bed.
5. Next
Tuck the hanging piece at the corner under your mattress, smoothing the fold down over the side of your bed.
Tuck it under the mattress and make sure it's done tightly.
Repeat this on the other side.
