Along the western shores of Lake Turkana, the distance between the water and people’s homes has become a measure of fear.

In Kalokol and neighbouring fishing settlements, residents have watched the lake advance into areas that once supported homes, schools, latrines, businesses, water points and fishing infrastructure.
