Newly-elected Morogoro MP and musician Diamond Platnumz's manager Babu Tale has denied claims that he killed his wife, Shamsa Kombo Tale. It had been alleged that the first-time legislator had killed his wife for power. Speaking during an interview with Clouds FM, Tale dismissed the claims saying jealous people generated them. He further maintained that he loved his wife and she loved him too.

"Watu wanasema kwamba nilimuua mke wangu kwa kumtoa kafara, hii yote ni propaganda tu. Mimi nilimpenda sana mke wangu na nisingefanya jambo lolote la kuvunja ndoa yangu, tulipendana sana. (People who say that I killed my wife by sacrificing her to black magic are just propagandists. I really loved my wife and I could never go against the marriage institution by breaking it all in a bid of chasing leadership and power)," he said.

Tale's wife, who was popularly known as Shammy, died on 28 June 2020, with the cause of death yet to be made public. News about her death was broken on social media by Diamond's family members who condoled with the deceased's family.

"Mke na Mama wa Watoto wa Meneja wa Lebo ya WCB, Hamis Taletale @babutale , SHAMMY amefariki dunia Mapema Alfajili ya Leo. (WCB label's (manager's) wife and mother of his children Hamis Taletale @babutale, Shammy died earlier today)," Diamond's mother, Mama Dangote, wrote.

Esma Platnumz eulogized the deceased as a friendly person, recounting memories of happy times spent with the deceased before her untimely death.

Forty-five days after her death, Babu Tale, for the first time, opened up in a post he shared on his Instagram account of a video of Shammy goofing around their living room as she walked away. He captioned the video saying that it had been 45 days since she passed away, and he still felt like he is living in a dream.

"RIP my wife. Ni 45 days tangu umeniacha Mama TT nahisi bado nipo kwenye ndoto, (It has been 45 days after you left us Mama TT, I still feel like I am dreaming)" wrote Babu Tale.

Reports indicated that Shamsa passed on while admitted in the ICU after developing breathing complications from an asthma attack. However, unverified reports from a family member suggested that the deceased had been battling other major complications that saw her admitted to the ICU. It was believed that the mother of four had been responding well to treatment until her body grew weak and gave in as she breathed her last.

"She died between 12:00 and 12:30am. She was in ICU after throat constrictions. We got the news at 6:00 am on Sunday. Before her admission to the ICU, she had malaria, she also had ulcers. She was ok but her health deteriorated," Babu Tale's brother, Abdu Tale divulged.
