Jealous ex-boyfriend sent X-rated tape of former partner pleasuring herself to her family as revenge

A jealous ex-boyfriend sent a sex video of his former partner to her brother in a "disgraceful" revenge porn attack.

Gary Whicker was angry over splitting with her after a stormy night out together.

The 22-year-old sent a recording of the woman naked and masturbating to her young brother, who told his mum about getting a "naughty" video .

The schoolboy did not recognise his sister in the clip, Liverpool Crown Court heard today.

Whicker was jailed for eight months for "humiliating" his ex, after calling her a "slag" and threatening to expose her.

Whicker, of Huyton, Merseyside, pleaded guilty to disclosing private sexual images with intent to cause distress.

Edmund Haygarth, prosecuting, told court that in a statement the victim’s mum said: “I hope Gary Whicker understands the damage and stress he has caused my family.

"I knew what kind of person he was but I never thought he would stoop as low as he did.”

Judge Jonathan Foster, QC, said that the offence, commonly known as revenge porn, is a relatively new offence.

He added: "One ingredient of the offence is the intention of causing that individual distress and you succeeded in that.

"Not only causing her distress but her family, it potentially discloses to the world the most intimate of circumstances and it is disgraceful behaviour.

“It involves humiliation of others in distribution of that video.

"The only sentence I can impose for the deliberate act of intending to cause distress, particularly by the revelation to a ten-year-old, is imprisonment."

Alaric Walmsley, defending said, “He is deeply remorseful for what happened.

"He understands the harm and pain he has caused.

"But it was a momentary lapse in this case.”

Whicker’s sister, who looked shocked when he was jailed, was in the public gallery along with his father.
