A seven year old girl is nursing wounds after being beaten by her teacher

Naivasha,Kenya:A seven year old girl is recuperating in a hospital in Naivasha after she was allegedly beaten by her teacher and seriously injured on her hands, legs and head.

The minor was rushed to hospital in critical condition after the attack in Nyondia Primary school which left parents and students in shock.

The minor who is admitted at Lake View nursing home angered her teacher after she misplaced an exercise book.

According to the father Zachariah Gachara, the minor was collected lying in bushes near the school after the beating.

The irate parent told how the minors’ hands, leg and back were swollen after the brutal attack by the teacher.

“After the beating, the girl could not walk and lay on the grass for hours before she was collected by her aunty later in the afternoon,” he said.

Gachara added that he had reported the matter at the Naivasha police station adding that the minor was responding well to treatment.

“We know that beating was banned by the government and am calling on the necessary government body to take action against the teacher,” he said.

Naivasha deputy OCPD Paul Korir confirmed the incident adding that investigation had started to establish what happened.

“The report has been made and a file has been opened and those responsible will have no otherwise but to face the law,” he said.
