Varsity Student Attacked by Unknown People

A third-year Maseno University media student was on Wednesday night attacked by unknown people along Bustani road, Maseno.

Rogers Aghan who was on his way to his area of residence was from watching a football match when he was attacked by 'pangas' from people he couldn't recognise at around midnight.

"These people came from nowhere and attacked me with pangas. Four of them looked like students while the rest I couldn't identify them completely because it was dark," he said.

He was then rushed to Chulaimbo Hospital where he was referred by the doctors to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital. The doctors at Chulaimbo confirmed that the cuts were too deep that he needed to be taken to Kisumu.

The victim is currently undergoing treatment and in a stable condition.Meanwhile, investigations are still going on.

This comes after another Maseno University student was attacked in Mabungo area, Maseno, last year also under unclear circumstances.
