Kisii food dealers put on the spot

Kisii, Kenya: Unscrupulous food dealers in Kisii County will face a penalty of up to five years' imprisonment if found to be in breach of safety by-laws stipulated in the Food Safety Act of 2003.

This follows a warning issued by Kisii County Public Health Officer Melllitus Kabar who also urged residents to be vigilant when buying food, saying it had emerged that some business operators were engaged in the illegal sale of unfortified food.
