Robin van Persie to leave Man United for future Excelsior return

Robin van Persie is set to depart Manchester United to Eredivisie side Excelsior in the future, Daily star reports.

The Netherlands forward struggled with injury during his second season as United slumped to a seventh-place finish and there were suggestions he could leave the club this summer. Van Persie's father, Bob, is adamant his son will remain at Old Trafford before one day making a return to Excelsior, his first club, and end his career, but revealed the 30-year-old plans to return to his first club, Excelsior, for a career swansong.
