BUSIA, KENYA: A group of women in Musokoto village in Nambale Sub County want a police post to be established in the area to stop their husbands from spending too much time away from their homes.
Led by chairperson of building committee of Walatsi chief's camp Pamela Makokha, the women who expressed their concerns to area MP John Bunyasi, said their husbands spend most of evening time in chang'aa and Bursa drinking dens and as a result fail to effectively execute their roles as husbands.
"They spend hours drinking and when they come back home all they do is to sleep or pick up quarrels with their spouses," said Ms Makokha.
She added: "We believe the construction of a police post in the area will go a long way in addressing the problem because they (our husbands) will not want to be confronted by the police officers on patrols".
