Couple’s romp in stationery car causes accident

It’s an open secret that extra marital affairs are not only carried out in ATM booths these days, but that some people convert their vehicles into ‘lodgings’.

On lonely sections of the roads, or at social places, one will spot parked ‘bouncing’ cars. Some people claim this mode is safe, cheap and convenient with the vehicle serving dual purposes.

A man, only identified as Sam, says, “Taking a room in the first place is risky as you might get busted by your wife’s friends or get spotted walking in or leaving the lodging even by your father in-law.”

So popular has the car become that one could be mistaken for thinking mechanical breakdowns, especially at night, have become too frequent.

But this method is not as safe as we think. A man who pulled this stunt in Gilgil was busted in the act by members of the public when he unwittingly released the hand brake in the throes of passion, forcing his car to roll down hill and crash into a stationery car parked outside a highway bar.

Tangle

A crowd of revellers that was enjoying their nyam chom, beer and music at the roadside bar was shocked by a shattering sound of breaking glass. They rushed out only to find a car that had rammed into another car.

“Seems like the driver did not engage the hand-brake. That is why the car must have rolled,” said a man at the crash scene, as the rest milled it around.

How wrong he was! For inside the vehicle was a semi-naked couple struggling to disentangle themselves and dress up. It was then that it dawned on the crowd the two were having sex in the car when they tangled with the hand brake leading to the ‘accident’.

The trader, who is well known, was left recoiling in shame as locals rebuked him, wondering if he could not afford a room.

In-thing

According to a witness, the businessman was with a female college student from “sin city”, which this writer later learnt was Nakuru.

He said the two lovers were saved from a beating by some revellers who knew the trader but were ordered to dress up.

The crowd at first got incensed and demanded the businessman meets the cost of repairing the damaged car, but some people came to his defense,” said the eyewitness, saying having sex in a car was nowadays, the in-thing and saw nothing wrong with the couple.

“They must, however, steer clear of the hand brake as they might end up rolling down a cliff,” joked a tipsy man.

A traffic police officer who arrived at the scene says these cases are on the increase, noting that some involve senior government officers and even clergymen.

“We have busted so many men in this act, mainly along major roads, and even outside bars, but they always ‘pay’ up to avoid the humiliation,” he said.
