President Uhuru Kenyatta to attend African Union Summit in Addis Ababa

By PPS

Kenya: President Uhuru Kenyatta will on Thursday travel to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a five day official visit.

While in Ethiopia, President Kenyatta will attend the 21st Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government.

The AU summit coincides with the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the OAU-AU.

The Summit theme ‘Pan-Africanism and the African Renaissance’ raises the profile of the AU and also provides a mobilising point for uniting different actors including citizens, governments and the private sector towards political and economic prosperity.

Uhuru will be one of the key speakers during the summit and his speech will reflect on Kenya’s achievements and national programmes.

The President will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Amina Mohamed and senior government officials.
