Pewin takes Chevrolet dealership to new level with Karen showroom

Pewin Motors has opened a showroom on Karen Road, Nairobi to sell and service Chevrolet vehicles. This follows a dealership agreement with General Motors (GM) early this year.

Speaking over the weekend during the opening ceremony, Tourism, Commerce and East African Affairs Cabinet Secretary Phylis Kandie lauded Pewin for inking the dealership which will assist in establishing Chevrolet brands in the country as well as create jobs.

She said the ministry will give incentives to local firms working with multinational companies and challenged global firms to offer training to the locals in technology skills transfer to boost the automobile industry.

Pewin Motors Managing Director David Kirigua said the company had set up a marketing and distribution system to ensure it meets the required standards and up market share. GM’s Geoffrey Mulandi said the Chevrolet Trailblazer launched in Kenya last year has registered increased sales of over 100 per cent.
