Moi tells off critics over proposed law

Former President Moi says his opposition to the Proposed Constitution is not out of ignorance, as some would want Kenyans to believe.

Moi challenged the leadership to allow those with opposing views on the draft law to air them without being intimidated.

"Leaders should not shut us up by saying we are ignorant. I have read the document and my opinion has been shaped by knowledge," said Moi.

He added: "If you read this document, you might even uncover many hidden proposals and creations that may not augur well for the well being or morality in the society."

He said as a retired president he was entitled to his views and no one should try to shut him up simply because he quit active politics.
