SAVAGE: Ruto fires back at 'handshake' MPs who want him to quit

Deputy President William Ruto on November 14, 2019, responded to calls by a number of Members of Parliament(MPs) who asked him to resign.

This came after a section of MPs, through a press conference, accused the DP of fighting President Uhuru's initiatives and declared him unqualified to hold his position.

Ruto, through his twitter account, rubbished the claims and blamed ‘the people’s conman’ who he termed as their master.

“Waheshimiwa, the real SABOTEUR is your master the people's conman who uses deceit to divide/destroy parties even UHURU's Jubilee,” said the Deputy President.

"The master of chaos who factors violence in election equations; the one who never accepts defeat," he added.

As indicated in an article by The Standard newspaper published on November 14, 2019, the twenty-five Members of Parliament are allied to both President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.

The ‘handshake’ Members of Parliament said that, in their opinion, Ruto was still in pain because of the Kibra loss.

“The MPs maintained that Ruto was bitter because of the Kibra loss and told him it was a taste of what was to come” read the article.

MPs that attended the press conference include Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni wa Muchomba, Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, Makadara MP George Aladwa among others

Ruto, who stayed clear on the President’s initiatives, expressed his support to the President and Jubilee Party against dictators.

“We'll stand with Uhuru and Jubilee against such dictators” concluded the Deputy President.
