Man held for 'killing' wife's lover

A 35-year-old man who allegedly hacked to death his estranged wife’s lover in Pombo village, Mogotio Constituency, has been arrested.

According to the police, the suspect hacked to death Daniel Kogo before injuring the woman. The couple had separated a few months ago.

Mogotio Directorate of Criminal Investigations Luka Tumbo said the suspect trailed the two to the woman's home in Pombo village, where he committed the heinous act on Saturday night.

"He suspected the two had a love affair and he went to the wife's house and attacked them," said Mr Tumbo.

The couple has eight children but had separated following a domestic dispute.

Meanwhile, a 42-year-old man committed suicide at Kaptembwa in Nakuru Town West following a quarrel with his wife.

The area police boss Patrick Olunyi said Zachariah Njega hanged himself in their rental house.

It was claimed the man had failed to provide for his family.

His body was found dangling from the roof of the house by his children and wife after returning from church.
