Reprieve for missing Dutch's wife as court reduces her detention to 10 days

Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen and his wife Sarah Wairimu Kamotho.

The High Court on Friday reviewed an order that detained the wife of missing Dutch businessman Tob Cohen for 12 days and reduced the period to 10 days.

Justice Daniel Ogembo, sitting at the Milimani Courts, said Sarah Wairimu's detention was unlawful.

“The court that detained Sarah Wairimu for 12 days failed to consider that she had already spent four days in custody," ruled Ogembo.

The judge said the other orders issued by the lower court will remain in force.

DPP Noordin Haji and DCI George Kinoti had opposed Wairimu's application.
