Man’s decomposing body found in Rarieda

 

A decomposing body of a 33-year-old man was this morning discovered in Rachar Sub-Location, Rarieda Sub County. 

The body of Eliakim Aidi Agola was found lying in the bush with a rope tied to his neck by a villager.

According to the villager, Joseph Oyoko, he was attracted by a foul smell that was emanating from the bush.

Confirming the incident to The Standard, the area assistant chief George Odhiambo

Ochieng said he was informed by Oyoko.

"We are highly suspecting that the man might have committed suicide since a piece of an old rope was found hanging on the tree while another one tied to his neck," said Ochieng.

The administrator further revealed that the deceased had problems with the family.

"It is on record that he at one time cut his step mother with an axe while drunk," he said.

He called on youth not to resort to suicide whenever they have problems.

The body was removed to Madiany Sub County hospital mortuary.
