The High Court has stopped a splinter group from running a parallel office at the giant but troubled Ruiru-based Githunguri Constituency Ranching Company.

Justice Mary Kasanga issued the orders restraining Ahmed Chege, Henry Kihoro and their parallel leadership group from operating an office purporting it to be that of the land-buying company.

“An injunction is hereby issued until the hearing and determination of the suit restraining from operating a parallel office of Githunguri Constituency Ranching Company Limited at Wakihoro building in Ruiru town or any other place,” reads part of the order.

The splinter group has been tussling over the leadership of the ranching company with the current chairman John Maina and his team for the last 10 years.

Maina in June 2018 moved to court seeking permanent injunction to restrain the Chege group from maintaining and running an office at the Wakihoro Building in Ruiru town or in any other place purporting it to the firm’s registered office.

He also sought an injunction restraining the defendants or their agents from holding an illegal special general meeting of the company.

The Chege allied group on April 10 secured a court order barring the Maina-led faction from holding the company’s Annual General Meeting on April 11.
