Director of Digital at the PSCU Dennis Itumbi has apologised for lying to Kenyans through a tweet on his official Twitter page, alluding that DP Ruto’s wife, Rachael Ruto was offering aid.
It all started when Itumbi shared photos of Mrs. Ruto receiving food donations to drought-stricken Turkana and Baringo counties with the caption: “A donation by @MamaRachelRuto in aid of fellow Kenyans facing hunger in Turkana and Baringo drought.”

Immediately after posting the pictures, some of his hawk-eye twitter followers noticed that the photos shared by Itumbi were actually shared on Rachael Ruto’s Twitter handle back in 2014.
This attracted internet trolls and vile comments.
One fan tweeted:
A screenshot from Rachel Ruto's own TL. What do you mean by calling this fake news? Have you see what the bootlicker Itumbi has posted latest on his TL? pic.twitter.com/6cbYetGcQo

Another said:

And while many of his followers were left wondering why he would share old photos, Itumbi was quick to delete the pictures after realizing his mistake and reprehensible comments that followed.
This prompted him to respond by tweeting an apology, with the caption:
I apologize for images I shared here earlier.
Mama Rachel Ruto was not in Turkana
I relied on unverified images.
This was my mistake and I am sorry.
I have since deleted them.
May the record reflect the true position and my apology too.
