Raiders kill Police reservist, steal over 700 goats in Turkana

One National Police Reservist has been killed and one civilian injured in Lomelo area Turkana County, in a suspected bandit attack.

Confirming the incident Lomelo area Chief Jackson Ekwang' said over 100 armed men raided the village and made away with over 700 goats during the 6pm attack.

The attackers also made away with a rifle of the NPR officer.

"One police reservist was killed and his rifle taken away, a civilian is also nursing serious leg injuries after he was shot," said Ekwang'.

The chief said tension is high in the area. He however said a team of police officers from the Rapid Deployment Unit has reached the area.
