LOVE: Man surprises policewoman at Central Police Station

A police station is regarded as an environment that handles serious matters regarding security and breach of law but it seems love indeed conquers all.

Musician Murua Muziki, flanked by a number of bodaboda riders, made his way to the Central Police Station in Nairobi on Thursday armed with flowers to surprise an officer at the station.

There is no perfect love story and this was not any different as the ‘delegation’ was denied entry by the OCPD.

He, however, softened his stance after learning that Murua was at the station to surprise one of his officers, Irene Chepkoech.

Murua first dished out flowers to officers at the station before handing his gift – a voucher for two at the After 40 Hotel- to Chepkoech.

She was pleasantly surprised by this gesture and could not help but marvel at the crowd that had come to reward her.

The officer was among hundreds who had participated in a social media challenge dubbed #loveisintheairchallenge that was started by Murua.

Participants were required to capture themselves jumping and the winner would be rewarded based on likes from members of the public.

Elsewhere in Bomet County, Administration Police Officers celebrated Valentine’s Day with motorists and members of the public along the Narok-Bomet Road.

The officers gave out flowers to motorists as they went about their duties, an act that was warmly received in the area.
