The University of Nairobi Senate has revoked Meru Senator Mithika Linturi’s law degree Thursday morning for presenting fake admission papers in order to attain a certificate.

The decision by the senate came after thorough investigations were conducted with help from the Commission for University Education, into the intergity of Mr. Linturi’s law degree.

However, this is not the first time the Meru senator has suffered such a huge blow.

About a week ago, Meru High Court Judge Ann Ong’injo ordered IEBC and the county returning officer Samuel Gichichi to provide the petitioner with self-declaration forms and certified copies of the senator’s academic qualifications.

The petitioner in question, Mugambi Imanyara has been contesting the election of Mr Linturi as the Meru senator.

Linturi was among the 106 political leaders in the list of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to have questionable integrity issues ahead of the August 8 general election.
