Miguna says repeat election will be nullified again, reveals names of people ‘micromanaging’ IEBC

Former Nairobi Gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna during an interview with NTV said that the October 26 repeat presidential election will be nullified again because the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has not meet the requirements of the Supreme Court.

“As you can see there’s a plethora of errors. In fact, all the ten points are erroneous. What does that tell you, the commission is not ready to conduct a credible election, it tells you they are not meeting the requirements by the Supreme Court, it tells you that this election will be nullified,” said Miguna during the interview.

Miguna also went ahead and said that the IEBC, according to former IEBC Commissioner Roselyn Akombe, is being micromanaged by the PS internal security and the Jubilee majority leader of the National Assembly Aden Duale.

"The commission is being controlled. As I said last week and I am going to repeat here, the commission according to commissioner Akombe is being micromanaged by PS internal security and the Jubilee majority leader of the National Assembly Aden Duale," continued Miguna.

The August 8 poll was nullified on Friday 1 September after NASA filed a petition to the Supreme Court. The Chief Justice David Maraga said that the elections were not conducted in a free and fair manner.

According to National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga, IEBC anti-demos will continue today and tomorrow to ensure that no election will take place on Thursday October 26.

Raila Odinga said that they do not have faith in the IEBC to conduct a free fair and credible election stating that former IEBC Commissioner Roselyn Akombe resigned for the same reasons.

President Uhuru Kenyatta however said that they are ready for the election during his meeting with Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati on Tuesday 23 October.

President Uhuru accompanied by his deputy William Ruto said that the IEBC should do its job to conduct the elections.
