The National Super Alliance has issued the Director of Public Prosecutions with a 72-hour ultimatum to file charges against Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials that bungled the August 8 General Election.

The NASA coalition indicated on Friday that the Supreme Court did not exonerate any IEBC official and they (officials) must be prosecuted for election malpractices.

"Following that decision, your office has made a statement that it will evaluate the full text of the Judgment and make a determination on whether or not to commence and proceed with criminal prosecutions.

“Our express instructions are that the commissioners and members of the secretariat not only committed criminal acts of which they should be held personally responsible, but also aided and abetted the commission of offences under the Elections Offences Act, the Public Procurement Act, the Elections Act and breaches of the Constitution," read part of the statutory notice written to the DPP.

The coalition led by Opposition leader, Raila Odinga, wants Chairman Wafula Chebukati, CEO Ezra Chiloba and ICT director James Muhati Charged.

Others on NASA’s list include Immaculate Kassait, Molu Boya, Abdi Guliye, Marijan Hussein and Praxedes Tororey, who resigned on Friday morning.
