West Brom closing in on Gibbs and Arsenal want Evans in exchange

West Brom are closing in on a deal for Kieran Gibbs - and Arsenal have asked for Jonny Evans to be part of the deal.

They have now agreed a £7million deal for Arsenal left back Gibbs after beating Watford to his signature as they pulled out.

But Arsenal also made enquiries about West Brom defender Evans who they tried to sign last summer.

Manchester City remain in pole position for Evans and are hopeful a final bid in excess of £25million will get the deal done.

West Brom bid on Gibbs earlier in the summer but did not agree the deal but are now hopeful of completing it and getting the medical done today.
