We all want to age gracefully. In fact, we strive to look good, feel good and generally appeal to our peers, friends and loved ones. Most individuals will actually screech with their intestines at the thought that they appear to be older than their actual age. Aging is however inevitable, and there is no reason for it to be associated with pain, slowness or disability. What we do not realize is that aging gracefully is a state of mind, and a reflection of an individual’s state of wellbeing. Our focus should therefore not be the calendar age which also happens to be the date in which we were all born. We should all focus on our state of wellbeing which is ideally determined by our medical age.
